Our Choir at St. Nicolas

Presently we rely on a small group of regular and committed singers to lead our worship.

We are delighted to have received a donation of a significant amount of choral music which has contributed vastly to the development of our music library.

We are presently looking for new singers in all parts to swell the ranks so that we can make good use of it! We presently rehearse from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m. most Fridays and sing at the Sung Eucharist at 11.30 a.m. and at Major Festivals. For more information without obligation please contact Victor on 07768 274461 or by email at victor@victorpottermusic.uk

Our Organ at St. Nicolas

Until recently our music was supported by a Wood Wordsworth pipe organ incorporating pipework from various sources, described as a ‘mongrel’ and containing parts which have become irreplaceable. It had deteriorated to such an extent that some stops had become unusable and significant remedial work was required. As the prospective cost of such works proved beyond the present resources of the Parish a decision was taken to ‘mothball’ this organ and to replace it with a new Viscount Envoy three manual fifty stop organ designed and voiced to reproduce the sound of a traditional British pipe organ and capable of a very wide repertoire. The installation should be completed very soon.

Concerts and Recitals

Saint Nicolas has a wonderful acoustic and a reputation for a variety of excellent concerts and recitals. We are presently putting together a series of recitals for the spring and summer to raise money to cover the installation of the new organ, work on the bells and general expenses. Do keep an eye open for details and, of course, come if you can!
