CONGRATULATIONS to Revd. Janice Bartholomew ordained Priest last Sunday, 4th June.

FLOWER FESTIVAL: A total of £4,291.00 was raised over the three days and in sponsorship. A very big thank you to everyone who took part in many ways to make a successful Bank Holiday. With appreciation to our MP Huw Merriman attending. It was a team effort.  Please take time to look at the photos of this event on our website www.pevenseyparish.org  and, if you have a photo you would like included, please send it to Merriel. n.b. The signet ring handed in during the Flower Festival has been claimed by a gentleman in Pevensey Bay

HELPERS REQUIRED! We need helpers for the SUMMER CONCERTS.  There are sheets at the back of both Churches for you to add your name if you can help with either of these important events.  So, if you can welcome people, serve refreshments of bake a cake, please get in touch with Linda asap.

PARISH OUTING: On Wednesday 5th July we are going to Berwick Church - an amazing treasure near Alfriston which is famous for its 20th Century wall paintings (www.berwickchurch.org.uk).  We then move on to Middle Farm where you can get lunch and enjoy the various shops on site.  We will again, thanks to Ken Lacey, have the Community Minibus with Ken as our driver.  Ken Phillips has also agreed the church will pay the cost of the bus… thank you Ken. We will meet at St Wilfrid's at 10am and be back by about 3pm.  Please speak with Ronnie, 07702064231, to put your name on the list to join us.  Ronnie Hall

BEE HIVE: It is hard to understand why someone would set fire to the beehive in St Nicolas’ churchyard last weekend,  but they did.  Fortunately, the bees had not yet been installed.  However, thanks to a local doner, it will be possible to re-build the hive and provide a home for some bees in the next few weeks.

CONTEMPLATE & CREATE:

Saturday 1st July, 10-12.30 at St Wilfrid’s Church. Make a creative response to a gentle biblical meditation.  Art materials provided or bring own. Come and try something different – no artistic skills necessary! See Clive or Merriel.

SLEUTHS REQUIRED! A bundle of items went missing when clearing the refreshment table on Monday: 4 sharp knives, a pastry slice, ceramic pot containing sugar, tin foil and cling film, and a treasured willow patterned plate. The knives are wrapped in a tea towel so caution is needed in picking this item up as these knives are very sharp. If found please give to Linda. Many thanks.

CHRISTIAN AID 2023: A total of £503.50 was raised during the Christian Aid Week last month.
